בר עשרין שנין אחז כד מלך ושתסרי שנין מלך בירושלם ולא עבד דכשר קדם יי הי כדוד אבוי:
abwy kdwd hy yy qdm dkshr ebd wla byrwshlm mlk shnyn wshthsry mlk kd akhz shnyn eshryn br
Ahaz was twenty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem. He didn’t do that which was right in Yahweh’s eyes, like David his father,

ואזל בארחתהון דמלכיא דבית ישראל ואוף מתכן עבד לבעליא:
lbelya ebd mthkn wawp yshral dbyth dmlkya barkhthhwn wazl
but he walked in the ways of the kings of Israel, and also made molten images for the Baals.

והוא אסיק קטורתא בחילת בר הנום ואבער ית בנוהי באשתא ושזיב מימרא דיי מנהון ית חזקיה מן בגלל דגלי קדם יי דמניה אטמוסין דיפקון תלתא צדיקיא חנניה מישאל ועזריה דאטימוסין די מסרון גרמיהון דיתרמון לגו אתון נורא יקידתא מן בגלל שמא רבא ויקירא ואשתזבו מן יקידתא בקדמיתא אשתיזב אברהם מן יקידת אתון נורא דכשדאי דטלקיה תמן נמרוד מן בגלל דלא פלח לטעותיה ובתניתא אשתיזבת תמר מן יקידת נורא דבית דיניה דיהודה כד אמר אפקוהא ותתוקד בתליתאה אשתיזב מן יקידת נורא חזקיה בר אחז בזמן דטלקיה אבוי בחילת בר הנום בבמסיא דתופת ברביעתא אשתזבו חנניה מישאל ועזריה מן אתון נורא יקידתא דנבוכדנאצר מלכא דבבל בחמישיתא אשתיזב יהושע בר יהוצדק כהנא רבא כד טלקיה נבוכד נאצר רשיעא באתון נורא יקידתא עם אחאב בר קוליה וצדקיהו בר מעשיהו נביאי שקרא והנון אתוקדו בנורא ויהושע בר יהוצדק אשתיזב מטול זכותיה ברם אחז ארשע למעבד הי כתועבת עממין דתריך יי מן קדם בני ישראל:

Moreover he burned incense in the valley of the son of Hinnom, and burned his children in the fire, according to the abominations of the nations whom Yahweh cast out before the children of Israel.

ודבח ואסיק בוסמין בבמסיא ועל גלימתא ותחות כל אלן עבוף:
ebwp aln kl wthkhwth glymtha wel bbmsya bwsmyn wasyq wdbkh
He sacrificed and burned incense in the high places, and on the hills, and under every green tree.

ומסריה יי אלהא בידא דמלכא דארם וקטלו במשריתיה ושבו מניה שביתא רבתא ואיתיאו לדרמשק ולחוד ביד מלכא דישראל אתמסר וקטל במשריתיה קטלא רבתא:
rbtha qTla bmshrythyh wqTl athmsr dyshral mlka byd wlkhwd ldrmshq waythyaw rbtha shbytha mnyh wshbw bmshrythyh wqTlw darm dmlka byda alha yy wmsryh
Therefore Yahweh his God delivered him into the hand of the king of Syria. They struck him, and carried away from him a great multitude of captives, and brought them to Damascus. He was also delivered into the hand of the king of Israel, who struck him with a great slaughter.

וקטל פקח בר רמליהו באנש יהודה מאה ועשרין אלפין ביומא חד כלהון בני חילא מן בגלל דשבקו ית דחלתא דיי אלהא דאבהתהון:
dabhthhwn alha dyy dkhltha yth dshbqw bgll mn khyla bny klhwn khd bywma alpyn weshryn mah yhwdh bansh rmlyhw br pqkh wqTl
For Pekah the son of Remaliah killed in Judah one hundred twenty thousand in one day, all of them valiant men, because they had forsaken Yahweh, the God of their fathers.

וקטל זכרי גברא דבית אפרים ית מעשיהו בר מלכא וית עזריקם ארכון די ממנא על פלטרין וית אלקנה ארקבטא דמלכא:
dmlka arqbTa alqnh wyth plTryn el mmna dy arkwn ezryqm wyth mlka br meshyhw yth aprym dbyth gbra zkry wqTl
Zichri, a mighty man of Ephraim, killed Maaseiah the king’s son, Azrikam the ruler of the house, and Elkanah who was next to the king.

ושבו בני ישראל מאחוהון מאתן אלפין נשין בנין ובנן ואוף עדי סגיא בזו מנהון ואיתיאו ית עדאה לשמרון:
lshmrwn edah yth waythyaw mnhwn bzw sgya edy wawp wbnn bnyn nshyn alpyn mathn makhwhwn yshral bny wshbw
The children of Israel carried away captive of their brothers two hundred thousand women, sons, and daughters, and also took away much plunder from them, and brought the plunder to Samaria.

ותמן הוה נביא דיי עודד שמיה ונפק קדם חילא די אתא לשומרון ואמר להון הא ברוגזא דיי אלהא דאבהתכון על אנש יהודה מסרנון בידיכון וקטלתון בהון ברוגזא עד צית שמיא מטא:
mTa shmya tsyth ed brwgza bhwn wqTlthwn bydykwn msrnwn yhwdh ansh el dabhthkwn alha dyy brwgza ha lhwn wamr lshwmrwn atha dy khyla qdm wnpq shmyh ewdd dyy nbya hwh wthmn
But a prophet of Yahweh was there, whose name was Oded; and he went out to meet the army that came to Samaria, and said to them, “Behold, because Yahweh, the God of your fathers, was angry with Judah, he has delivered them into your hand, and you have slain them in a rage which has reached up to heaven.

וכדון בני יהודה וירושלם אתון אמרין למכבש לעבדין ולאמהן לכון הלא לחוד אתון עמכון קרבא אשמין אתחיבתון לקרבא קדם יי אלהכון:
alhkwn yy qdm lqrba athkhybthwn ashmyn qrba emkwn athwn lkhwd hla lkwn wlamhn lebdyn lmkbsh amryn athwn wyrwshlm yhwdh bny wkdwn
Now you intend to degrade the children of Judah and Jerusalem as male and female slaves for yourselves. Aren’t there even with you trespasses of your own against Yahweh your God?

וכדון קבילו מני ואתיבו שביתא די שביתון מאחוכון ארום תקוף רוגזא דיי עליכון:
elykwn dyy rwgza thqwp arwm makhwkwn shbythwn dy shbytha wathybw mny qbylw wkdwn
Now hear me therefore, and send back the captives that you have taken captive from your brothers, for the fierce wrath of Yahweh is on you.”

וקמו גוברין מרישי בני אפרים עזריהו בר יהוחנן ברכיהו בר משלמות ויחזקיהו בר שלם ועמשא בר חדלי על דאתין מן חילא:
khyla mn dathyn el khdly br wemsha shlm br wykhzqyhw mshlmwth br brkyhw yhwkhnn br ezryhw aprym bny mryshy gwbryn wqmw
Then some of the heads of the children of Ephraim, Azariah the son of Johanan, Berechiah the son of Meshillemoth, Jehizkiah the son of Shallum, and Amasa the son of Hadlai, stood up against those who came from the war,

ואמרו להון לא תיתון ית שביתא הכא ארום לחיבא קדם יי יתנא לאיתאה רגוז עלנא אתון אמרין לאוספא על סורחננא ועל חובתנא ארום סגיעת חובתנא לנא ותקוף רוגזא על ישראל:
yshral el rwgza wthqwp lna khwbthna sgyeth arwm khwbthna wel swrkhnna el lawspa amryn athwn elna rgwz laythah ythna yy qdm lkhyba arwm hka shbytha yth thythwn la lhwn wamrw
and said to them, “You must not bring in the captives here, for you intend that which will bring on us a trespass against Yahweh, to add to our sins and to our guilt; for our guilt is great, and there is fierce wrath against Israel.”

ושבקו מזרזי חילא ית שביתא וית בזתא קדם רבניא וכל קהלא:
qhla wkl rbnya qdm bztha wyth shbytha yth khyla mzrzy wshbqw
So the armed men left the captives and the plunder before the princes and all the assembly.
15
וקמו גבריא דאתפרשו בשמהן ואתקיפו בשביתא וכל ערטליהון אלבישו מן עדאה ואלבשונון ואנעלונון ואוכלונון ואשקיאונון ואסחיאונון ודברונון בחמרין לכל דאתקל ואיתיאונון ליריחו קרתא דדקליא קבל אחוהון ותבו לשמרון:
lshmrwn wthbw akhwhwn qbl ddqlya qrtha lyrykhw waythyawnwn dathql lkl bkhmryn wdbrwnwn waskhyawnwn washqyawnwn wawklwnwn wanelwnwn walbshwnwn edah mn albyshw erTlyhwn wkl bshbytha wathqypw bshmhn dathprshw gbrya wqmw
The men who have been mentioned by name rose up and took the captives, and with the plunder clothed all who were naked among them, dressed them, gave them sandals, gave them something to eat and to drink, anointed them, carried all the feeble of them on donkeys, and brought them to Jericho, the city of palm trees, to their brothers. Then they returned to Samaria.

בעדנא ההיא שדר מלכא אחז למלכא דאתור למסעד ליה:
lyh lmsed dathwr lmlka akhz mlka shdr hhya bedna
At that time King Ahaz sent to the kings of Assyria to help him.
17
ותוב אדומאי אתו וקטלו מן יהודה ושבו שביתא:
shbytha wshbw yhwdh mn wqTlw athw adwmay wthwb
For again the Edomites had come and struck Judah, and carried away captives.
18
ופלשתאי אתנגידו בקרוי שפלתא ודרומא די לשבטא יהודה וכבשו ית בית שמש וית אילון וית גדרות וית שוכו ופרוילהא וית תמנס ופרוילהא וית גמזו וית פרוילהא ויתיבו תמן:
thmn wythybw prwylha wyth gmzw wyth wprwylha thmns wyth wprwylha shwkw wyth gdrwth wyth aylwn wyth shmsh byth yth wkbshw yhwdh lshbTa dy wdrwma shpltha bqrwy athngydw wplshthay
The Philistines also had invaded the cities of the lowland and of the South of Judah, and had taken Beth Shemesh, Aijalon, Gederoth, Soco with its villages, Timnah with its villages, and also Gimzo and its villages; and they lived there.

ארום אמאיך יי ית יהודה מן בגלל אחז מלכא דישראל ארום אתבטילו דבית יהודה מפולחנא דיי ושקרו שקר במימרא דיי:
dyy bmymra shqr wshqrw dyy mpwlkhna yhwdh dbyth athbTylw arwm dyshral mlka akhz bgll mn yhwdh yth yy amayk arwm
For Yahweh brought Judah low because of Ahaz king of Israel, because he acted without restraint in Judah and trespassed severely against Yahweh.

ואתא עלוי תלגת פלנאסר מלכא דאתור ואתא ואעיק עלוי ולא תקפיה:
thqpyh wla elwy waeyq watha dathwr mlka plnasr thlgth elwy watha
Tilgath-pilneser king of Assyria came to him and gave him trouble, but didn’t strengthen him.

מטול דפליג אחז ית בית מקדשא דיי וית בית מלכא ורברביא ויהב למלכא דאתור ולא למסעד ליה:
lyh lmsed wla dathwr lmlka wyhb wrbrbya mlka byth wyth dyy mqdsha byth yth akhz dplyg mTwl
For Ahaz took away a portion out of Yahweh’s house, and out of the house of the king and of the princes, and gave it to the king of Assyria; but it didn’t help him.

ובעדן דעקא ליה ואוסיף לשקרא במימרא דיי הוא מלכא אחז:
akhz mlka hwa dyy bmymra lshqra wawsyp lyh deqa wbedn
In the time of his distress, he trespassed yet more against Yahweh, this same King Ahaz.
23
ודבח לטעות דרמשק דקטילו בחלותיה ואמר ארום טעות ארם אנון מסעדין יתהון להון אדבח ויסעדונני ואנון הוו ליה לתקלותיה ולכל בני ישראל:
yshral bny wlkl lthqlwthyh lyh hww wanwn wysedwnny adbkh lhwn ythhwn msedyn anwn arm Tewth arwm wamr bkhlwthyh dqTylw drmshq lTewth wdbkh
For he sacrificed to the gods of Damascus which had defeated him. He said, “Because the gods of the kings of Syria helped them, I will sacrifice to them, that they may help me.” But they were the ruin of him and of all Israel.

וכנש אחז ית כל מאני בית מקדשא דיי וקטע ית מאני בית מקדשא דיי ואחד ית דשי בית מקדשא דיי ועבד ליה אגורין בכל זוית בירושלם:
byrwshlm zwyth bkl agwryn lyh webd dyy mqdsha byth dshy yth wakhd dyy mqdsha byth many yth wqTe dyy mqdsha byth many kl yth akhz wknsh
Ahaz gathered together the vessels of God’s house, cut the vessels of God’s house in pieces, and shut up the doors of Yahweh’s house; and he made himself altars in every corner of Jerusalem.

ובכל קרי וקרי לשבטא דיהודה עבד במתין לאסקא בוסמין לטעות עממין נכראין וארגז קדם יי אלהא דאבהתהון :
dabhthhwn alha yy qdm wargz nkrayn emmyn lTewth bwsmyn lasqa bmthyn ebd dyhwdh lshbTa wqry qry wbkl
In every city of Judah he made high places to burn incense to other gods, and provoked Yahweh, the God of his fathers, to anger.

ושאר פתגמוי וכל ארחתיה קדמאי ובתראי הא אנון כתיבין על ספר מלכיא דבית יהודה וישראל:
wyshral yhwdh dbyth mlkya spr el kthybyn anwn ha wbthray qdmay arkhthyh wkl pthgmwy wshar
Now the rest of his acts, and all his ways, first and last, behold, they are written in the book of the kings of Judah and Israel.

ושכיב אחז עם אבהתוי וקברוהי בקרתא דירושלם ארום לא איתוהי לקברי מלכיא דבית ישראל ומלך חזקיהו בריה תחותוי:
thkhwthwy bryh khzqyhw wmlk yshral dbyth mlkya lqbry aythwhy la arwm dyrwshlm bqrtha wqbrwhy abhthwy em akhz wshkyb
Ahaz slept with his fathers, and they buried him in the city, even in Jerusalem, because they didn’t bring him into the tombs of the kings of Israel; and Hezekiah his son reigned in his place.
